Sprecher IPA^2 Double India Pale Ale - I’m not a huge hophead. This is refreshingly smooth and easy to drink compared to lots of super-hopped DIPA’s. I like it a lot, though hopheads may want to go elsewhere in the DIPA realm. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/144/37308
Founders Centennial IPA - This is a good IPA. Definitely has a hop punch. Poured a good head as you can see in the picture. It’s a good one worth a try for sure.
Founder’s Double Trouble Ale (2xIPA). Yes, it’s a double IPA night. I like this one a little better than the Hopslam. It’s still quite hoppy, but a little smoother than the Hopslam so a little easier to drink. Very good for the style. Another one to try if you get the chance.
Bell’s Hopslam… As you can tell by the name, this one is all about the hops. But then again, what 2xIPA isn’t? I’m not huge on this style, but this one seems pretty good for what it is. Very strong hop flavor. Poured a really nice head that held up for a pretty good while. Everything seems to be executed well in this beer, so I can see why it’s popular among Michigan hopheads. I can’t knock it for anything - its just not my personal choice of beer styles. It’s very in your face. I must say, I do like it better than a Victory Hopdevil or Hop Wallop. Definitely give it a try if you love hops!
Bell’s Special Double Cream Stout… I’m digging this one. Description on the bottle fits well. “Brewed with a blend of 10 different malts, Double Cream is an incredibly rich stout composed of dark, sweet and smooth tones intermingled with a soft, roasty finish.”. Definitely a stout style I like.
It was a maibock night tonight. This one is just ok. It’s Capital Brewing Maibock. Another import from Green Bay. Poured very little head. Feel is fine, flavor isn’t as good as the Sprecher from earlier. If you have a choice between these, go with Sprecher.
Sprecher Mai Bock imported from Green Bay by Randy. This is a tasty one! Makes me want some Free State maibock. Light amber color. Poured a nice head. Feel and finish are good. Definitely worth a try.
Shiner 102 Double Wheat. This one is alright, not awesome IMHO. Head decreased quickly after pour. I get a bite from carbonation - a little more than optimal. I get a bit of a citrus taste. Unfortunately, I’m not very good at picking up individual tastes. It’s worth a shot if you like wheats, but certainly not my fave.
This one is an easy drinking, tasty brew. Recommended if you can find it. It’s a Coor’s brew, but surprisingly good.
